TORONTO - Robin Fraser recalls lining up alongside a 21-year-old Greg Vanney in the Los Angeles Galaxy backline. Will Compton Jersey .He was always observing, Fraser recalled Thursday. He was a pretty quiet kid initially but it became very evident very quickly that he was one of those guys who was learning, he was always learning. And he was a tremendous player as a 21-year-old and just got better as time went on. We forged a pretty good friendship really quickly. I always appreciated his work ethic and the way he thought and continues to think about the game — thats been one of our biggest bonds. The two have been reunited with the 48-year-old Fraser signing on as an assistant coach under Vanney at Toronto FC.Vanney, now 40, was an assistant to then head coach Fraser at Chivas USA.Our relationship goes back many many years ... at the end of the day, we see things very similarly and yet differently enough that the conflict is good, Fraser said. For Vanney, Fraser is a valued friend who knows the league inside and out. Fraser played 10 seasons in MLS for the Los Angeles Galaxy, Colorado Rapids and Columbus Crew from 1996 to 2005, appearing in 260 regular-season games. The former U.S. international and two-time MLS defender of the year started his coaching career at Real Salt Lake as an assistant from 2007 to 2010, helping the team win the MLS Cup in 2009. He was head coach at Chivas in 2011 and 2012.For me he was a competitor, he was a leader, said Vanney. Obviously an phenomenal athlete but also a very savvy tactical player in his approach. And was always good for young players and bringing players along.Fraser, who spent the last two years as an assistant coach with the New York Red Bulls, joins Nick Theslof, Dan Calichman and Jon Conway on Vanneys coaching staff.Assistant coach Jason Bent will spend more time with the clubs new USL Pro affiliate.Jim Liston, director of sport science, and Michael Rabasca, director of cognitive development, are also on Vanneys staff. Fraser said he was drawn to Toronto by Vanney and the clubs resources and infrastructure. We really feel like this is a platform from which you can make something special.———Follow @NeilMDavidson on Twitter. FOXBOROUGH, Mass. Tahir Whitehead Jersey . - Winning in front of thousands of friendly fans is routine for the New England Patriots — even when theyre playing 3,000 miles from home. The support of the crowd behind the New England sideline and the teams stingy defence helped the Patriots remain in command of the AFC with a win in San Diego. There was a sea of Patriots fans behind our bench. I dont think Ive ever quite seen that before, coach Bill Belichick said Monday. We had all those fans right behind us. They were loud and vocal. They cheered as New England beat the Chargers on Sunday night, 23-14, one week after a 26-21 loss in Green Bay.Belichick gave his players the day off Monday to go with their usual day off on Tuesday because of what weve been through from a schedule standpoint, he said, where the team is physically, what we have coming up, the nature of the preparations for the next opponent. Two of their remaining three games are at home, where theyre 6-0 this season and 44-3 in their last 47 regular-season games. The Patriots (10-3) had gotten used to their West Coast surroundings after flying straight to San Diego after the loss to the Packers that snapped a seven-game winning streak. This whole week, guys were hanging out with each other, and thats what you need, team unity, cornerback Darrelle Revis said, especially coming off that loss to Green Bay.The victory maintained the Patriots chances of gaining home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.Theyre tied with Denver for the best record in the conference but hold the tiebreaker with their 43-21 win over the Broncos in Foxborough.Denver has road games at San Diego and Cincinnati then finishes at home against Oakland.New Englands remaining games are against AFC East opponents, at home against Miami, at the New York Jets and back home against Buffalo.Since 2010, the Patriots have lost consecutive games just twice. After a loss, nobody likes that feeling, said Brandon Bolden, who set up a touchdown Sunday by blocking a punt. We especially dont like that feeling, so everybody just takes it on their shoulders and says, we have to go out there and do better. The Patriots have improved greatly since their 33-20 loss at Miami in the opener in which the defence allowed three touchdowns. In the last four games — against playoff contenders Indianapolis, Detroit, Green Bay and San Diego — the defence has allowed a total of five touchdowns. With second-year linebacker Jamie Collins taking over signal-calling duties from injured Donta Hightower, the Patriots allowed just 216 yards and held the Chargers to four conversions on 13 third-down plays. Against Green Bay, the defence was much worse. The Packers gained 478 yards and were 10-for-17 on third downs.Three in-season pickups, linebackers Akeem Ayers and Jonathan Casillas and defensive tackle Alan Branch, played well. All three of those players have definitely helped us, both with their playing time, their performance and Id say the rapid pace at which theyve picked things up, Belichick said.Defensive tackle Sealver Siliga, playing his first game after being activated from the injured reserve list with a designation to return, also contributed. Those four guys, collectively, getting them all on the field (Sunday) night was a big boost for us, Belichick said. Those guys have really come in and done not only what we needed them to do, but probably more.Top pass rusher Chandler Jones has missed the past six games with a hip injury and linebacker Jerod Mayo went on injured reserve after the sixth game.Jones and Hightower were on the sideline cheering on their teammates. In the stands behind them, fans in Patriots jerseys joined in the support. The Patriots travel well, New England cornerback Brandon Browner said. That was awesome.___Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL DeAndre Washington Jersey . George Blanda Jersey .Y. - Major League Soccer is prepared to start its season this weekend even if there isnt a labour deal with its referees and other on-field officials. http://www.cheapraidersjerseysonline.com...sey-online .com) - The fading Ottawa Senators have a chance to make up some ground in the playoff race on Tuesday night as they play host to the New York Rangers.Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Win three straight national championships and then play with a chip on your shoulder. Incredibly, thats what the North Dakota State Bison did in the 2014 season on their way toward capturing an unprecedented fourth straight FCS title this past Saturday and then the unanimous No. 1 ranking in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 on Monday. In the final national media poll, North Dakota State collected all 152 first- place votes and 3,800 points. Realistically, there appeared to be reason to doubt NDSUs chances after last season when it lost a superb senior class as well as former head coach Craig Bohl to the University of Wyoming. All that did, though, was motivate the Bison. What weve done this year shows that it wasnt those 24 seniors that got us three national championships, senior linebacker Carlton Littlejohn said. Its everyone around -- everyone in the program from coaches to players to even training staff, like were a whole Bison family. Its not 24 seniors thats going to win us a national championship. Exactly, senior running back John Crockett added, and its a band of brothers going out there and basically fighting for each other and not wanting to let the other one down because they know that the other one is going to do everything he can not to let him down. NDSU completed its 15-1 season by defeating Illinois State, 29-27, in the FCS championship game in Frisco, Texas, winning on quarterback Carson Wentzs 5- yard run with 37 seconds remaining. The Bison rallied from fourth-quarter deficits in three of their four postseason wins. The contributions were widespread for NDSU this season. First-year coach Chris Kliemans team placed a national-high six players on The Sports Network FCS All-America Team, and that didnt even include Wentz, a redshirt junior who was voted the Most Outstanding Player in the national final. Looking toward 2015, the Bison lose another outstanding 17-member senior class. Of course, that has hardly mattered while the Bison have gone 58-3 since the start of the 2011 season - one more national title than losses. National runner-up Illinois State (13-2) finished with the No. 2 ranking under sixth-year coach Brock Spack. The Redbirds, whose team featured dual-threat quarterback Tre Roberson and FCS rushing leeader Marshaun Coprich, had an impressive postseason run, avenging a loss to the only team (Northern Iowa) to defeat both the Redbirds and North Dakota State during the regular season and then going on the road to beat both fourth-seeded Eastern Washington and top- seeded New Hampshire. Mike Nugent Jersey. New Hampshire (12-2) was No. 3 in the final poll. The CAA Football champion finished the regular season with the top ranking and reached the national semifinals for the second consecutive season. Big Sky Conference champion Eastern Washington (11-3), a national quarterfinalist, was No. 4 and Big South Conference co-champion Coastal Carolina (12-2), which also reached the final eight in the postseason, was No. 5. They were followed by No. 6 Sam Houston State (11-5), a national semifinalist and co-champion in the Southland Conference; No. 7 Villanova (11-3), a national quarterfinalist; No. 8 Chattanooga (10-4), a national quarterfinalist and the Southern Conference champion; No. 9 Jacksonville State (10-2), the Ohio Valley Conference champion; and No. 10 Northern Iowa (9-5). Next up were No. 11 Fordham (11-3), the Patriot League champion; No. 12 South Dakota State (9-5); No. 13 Montana (9-5); No. 14 Southeastern Louisiana (9-4), the Southland co-champion; No. 15 Harvard (10-0), unbeaten champion of an Ivy League which doesnt participate in the FCS playoffs; No. 16 Richmond (9-5); No. 17 Liberty (9-5), the Big South co-champion; No. 18 James Madison (9-4); No. 19 Indiana State; and No. 20 Montana State (8-5). Rounding out the Top 25 were No. 21 Eastern Kentucky (9-4); No. 22 Youngstown State (7-5); No. 23 Bethune-Cookman (9-3), which was one of five teams to share the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title; No. 24 Sacred Heart (9-3), the Northeast Conference co-champion; and No. 25 Idaho State (8-4). The Missouri Valley had the most teams ranked in the final Top 25 with six, followed by the Big Sky and the CAA with four each. Eleven of the 13 FCS conferences had at least one team in the Top 25. A national panel of sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries select the Top 25. In the voting, a first-place vote is worth 25 points, a second-place vote 24 points, all the way down to one point for a 25th-place vote. A look at what’s happening around the majors today:

HOT HOUSTON

The Astros aim for their 12th straight victory http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com...ams-jersey , which would tie for the longest winning streak in franchise history set in 1999 and duplicated in 2004. Fresh off a 10-0 road trip to Texas, Oakland and Kansas City in which they outscored opponents 74-35, the World Series champions return to Minute Maid Park to take on Tampa Bay. Houston starter Gerrit Cole (8-1, 2.40 ERA) leads the AL with 130 strikeouts; the Rays will start a reliever for the third straight game, with Ryne Stanek opening up.

DOUBLING UP

The New York Yankees and Washington meet for a doubleheader – sort of – at Nationals Park. The teams were tied at 2 in the sixth inning on May 15 when their game was stopped because of rain, and they were postponed the next night. So the Yanks and Nats will pick up in the sixth, with both clubs expected to start out with relievers. Sonny Gray will start Game 2 for the New York against rookie Erick Fedde.

TRY AGAIN

Bartolo Colon goes for his 244th career win, which would break a tie with Hall of Famer Juan Marichal for most by a pitcher born in the Dominican Republic. The 45-year-old Colon gave up a season-high eight runs in his last outing for Texas, tagged by the Dodgers. Colon has won one of his past five starts going into this game at Kansas City. Ian Kennedy has won just one of his last 27 home starts for the Royals.

OH BABY

Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford will go on paternity leave for the birth of his fourth child and could miss as many as three games. San Francisco returns home from a 10-day road trip to face the Miami Marlins.

Brian Anderson stepped to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning with the game tied, one out and the bases loaded.

The Marlins’ rookie took the situation in stride like a veteran.

Anderson hit a game-ending sacrifice fly to lift the Miami Marlins over the San Francisco Giants 5-4 on Wednesday night.

”In a situation like that Keelan Cole Jersey , the pressure’s not on you, it’s on the pitcher,” Anderson said. ”I tried to stay within myself and get something in the strike zone, something I could elevate.”

J.T. Realmuto had two hits and scored twice for the Marlins, who have won three straight for the first time since winning four in a row April 28-May 1.

Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run home run and Buster Posey had three hits for the Giants, who entered the series winning eight of 10 but have dropped the first three games against last-place Miami and eight of the last nine in the series.

”Yyou can’t take any team lightly,” McCutchen said. ”This is the big leagues and regardless of their record or how many fans are in the stands, you’ve got to be ready to go.”

Reyes Moronta (2-1) allowed the first two hitters to reach in the bottom of the ninth, prompting manager Bruce Bochy to call on Hunter Strickland. Pinch-hitter J.B. Shuck hit a hard grounder down the first-base line, but Posey was able to dive to keep the ball in front of him Marcell Dareus Jersey , preventing the Marlins from scoring.

However, Strickland got himself into a 3-1 count against Anderson with one out. Anderson connected on a flyball to center field caught by Gorkys Hernandez, whose throw home was too late to catch Miguel Rojas.

”He didn’t crush it, but he got it deep enough,” Marlins manager Don Mattingly said.

It was the Marlins’ third walk-off win of the season.

San Francisco’s Evan Longoria broke a 3-all tie with a hit in the seventh off Tayron Guerrero. It was Longoria’s team-leading 11th go-ahead RBI of the season.

The Marlins responded with a two-out RBI double in the eighth by Justin Bour off Sam Dyson, tying the game at 4.

It was the third time in the game the Marlins trailed but bounced back to draw even.

”We’re doing what we’re hoping, we’re getting the lead,” Bochy said. ”We’re just having a hard time holding it.”

Drew Steckenrider (3-1) pitched a scoreless top of the ninth.

Andrew Suarez allowed five hits and two runs in five innings for the Giants, pitching in his hometown in front of a number of friends and family members. He struck out three and walked two.

”I just didn’t really have a feel for a lot of pitches later in the game,” Suarez said. ”I just think with all of the humidity and sweating so much Josh Lambo Jersey , the ball was a little slick. But you have to compete and keep throwing strikes.”

Miami’s Caleb Smith pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing eight hits and three runs.

He also had two hits at the plate.

”That was pretty fun,” Smith said. ”I’ve been working on it.”

McCutchen’s two-run blast in the first was his seventh of the season.

The Marlins tied the game at 2 on base hits by Cameron Maybin and Lewis Brinson in the fourth.

The teams traded runs in the sixth. Austin Jackson gave the Giants a 3-2 lead before Bour tied it with a base hit.

ROOF OPEN

The retractable roof was open for the 15th time this season, the most in a year since Marlins Park opened in 2012.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Giants: 1B Brandon Belt (appendix) is likely to have a couple rehab starts with the goal of joining the team on the next homestand beginning June 18 instead of playing this weekend in Los Angeles. … RHP Johnny Cueto (left ankle) will have another bullpen session Friday. … RHP Jeff Samardzija (right shoulder) will have a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday with a pitch limit of 60-65 pitches.

UP NEXT

Giants: RHP Dereck Rodriguez (1-1, 5.25 ERA) will start Thursday’s series finale. Rodriguez, the son of former Marlins catcher and Hall of Famer Pudge Rodriguez, spent a lot of time around the Marlins when his father helped lead them to a World Series title in 2003.

Marlins: RHP Dan Straily (2-2, 4.08) is 4-0 with a 2.43 ERA in five career starts against the Giants.

Madison, WI (SportsNetwork. Wholesale Packers Jerseys China .com) - Nigel Hayes led four players in double figures with 21 points, and No. 4 Wisconsin kept rolling with an 89-72 decision over Penn State in the Big Ten opener for both programs. Frank Kaminsky picked up 18 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for the Badgers (13-1, 1-0 Big Ten), while Sam Dekker had 17 points and Traevon Jackson totaled 16. One of our goals the last three years Ive been here is to win a Big Ten title, and we havent done that yet, said Kaminsky. So we have to approach every single game like its a championship game, because to be champions we have to play like champions every game. D.J. Newbill poured in a game-high 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting for the Nittany Lions (12-2, 0-1). Geno Thorpe and Shep Garner both picked 11 points in defeat. Obviously, we ran into a bus. Theyre really good. You take one thing away, they go to the next thing, Penn State head coach Patrick Chambers said. Give them a lot of credit for sharing the basketball and doing the little things that they do. Thorpes triple gave Penn State a 30-27 edge with 6:02 left in the first half, then Wisconsin slowly began to assert itself. The hosts scored nine in a row from there to go up by six on a free throw from Duje Dukan, then a Hayes trey later on boosted the lead to 41-34. Hayes added two more from the line before a Ross Travis layup pulled the Nittany Lions within 43-36 at the half. Dekkers bucket to begin the second half was answered by a shot from Brandon Taylor, and the seven-point deficit just over a minute into the period was the smallest Penn State encountered for the remainder of the contest. After Dekkers jumper less than a minute later pushed the Badgers lead to 10, Jackson hit a triple and Hayes finished off a three-point play to make it 54-38 less than four minutes in. Thorpes layup with 13:58 on the clock reduced the visitors deficit below double digits for the final time at 54-45, as an 11-2 Wisconsin run ensued. Kaminsky converted a pair of free throws for a 65-47 margin, then his layup with 8:06 on the clock pushed the Badgers lead to 20 for the first time. Wisconsins largest lead of the game was 22, on a Dekker bucket with 7:35 left which provided a 73-51 advantage. The Badgers scored the games first six points before a brief burst from the Nittany Lions, ending on a Donovon Jack slam, made it 15-14 in Penn States favor. A Travis basket with 8:59 left in the first half put PSU up 21-18. Game Notes Wisconsin shot a scorching 70 percent from the floor (14-of-20) in the second half and finished the game at 63.8 percent efficiency (30-of-47) ... Penn State shot 64 percent (16-of-25) in the first half to stay in the contest, but converted just 13-of-29 field goals in the final 20 minutes ... The actual winners on transfer deadline day are those clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City who were well prepared and managed to get their main incoming business done well ahead of the transfer window closing. Tottenham were able to add seven players by spending over 100 million pounds and also ensured maximum return for the Gareth Bale transfer to Real Madrid by managing the move superbly.PHOENIX - Nate Carroll almost passed on the chance to own a Super Bowl ring.Following the 2012 season when Gus Bradley was hired as the head coach in Jacksonville, Carroll was offered a job on the Jaguars staff. Doing so would have meant leaving Seattle, where Carroll was serving as a defensive assistant, and leaving his dad, Pete Carroll.I went down there and interviewed and I honestly thought about taking it just to show I could get a job outside of my father, Nate Carroll said. That was a big selling point for me.Nate Carroll ultimately stayed in Seattle when his dad offered him a position as an assistant wide receivers coach. It was a chance for the younger Carroll to learn the offensive side after starting his career with the Seahawks working under Bradley when he was Seattles defensive co-ordinator.I couldnt turn that down because the opportunity to learn offence after youve learned defence is rare, he said. In the football business most guys stay on one side and thats what they get and football is two different sides of a coin. Its night and day. Ive been very lucky. Both the coaching staffs in Sundays Super Bowl have family connections. Pete Carrolls son is in his fourth season working for the Seahawks, while Bill Belichicks son, Steve, is in his third season as an assistant for the Patriots. Steve Belichick was a lacrosse player at Rutgers before walking on the football team as a long snapper.Obviously, the passions in the family and they love what they do and Steven works his butt off, New England special teams coach Scott OBrien said. Theres a lot of times he doesnt even go home. He just stays there. If you enjoy what youre doing why dont you stay there?Generations of sons have followed theirr fathers into the coaching ranks. Paul Hornung Jersey. The names Ryan, Shula, Schottenheimer, Shanahan, Mora, Kiffin, Nolan and numerous others have seen multiple generations coach in some capacity in the NFL.Its truly a treasure for me. To have the chance to have Nate to be on this staff and watch him develop over the years hes been with us and grow as a coach, Pete Carroll said. To compete with your son, really at this level, to battle and to work day and night to try to figure out ways to try to win football games and youre doing it with those that you love, it just makes it a cherished time for us.Nate Carroll turned down a chance to play college football at San Diego — where he was recruited by Jim Harbaugh — to attend Southern Cal and later was hired by his dad in Seattle. While Nate Carrolls primary job is working with Seattles wide receivers, hes also the one who at times has to be blunt and honest with his dad when others might shy away from speaking that way with the head coach. Its a learned skill, moulded from saying the wrong thing at times when he was younger.Ive learned what he needs to hear, too, at times. He is ultra-positive and he will spin everything in a positive light because its better, he thinks and hes right, I think, Nate Carroll said. But at the same time I think its part of my role to give him the perspective of an outsider. What does everybody else see that is going on? I keep my ear to the pavement and try to listen to the media stuff, just a little bit here and there so I know how everyone else views it so he is informed about that stuff, too.___AP Sports Writer Howard Ulman contributed to this report.___AP NFL website: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap Adidas Hockey Jerseys Wholesale Nike Baseball Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys China Wholesale NFL Jerseys China Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike NBA Jerseys Authentic Cheap NHL Jerseys Canada Cheap Nike MLB Jerseys Cheap Soccer Jerseys China NCAA Jerseys Cheap Nike NHL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys Store Cheap Football Jerseys Store Wholesale Soccer Jerseys Jerseys NCAA China Jerseys NFL Cheap Cheap Nike NBA Jerseys ' ' '

MILWAUKEE -- The fan wanted a hug. Najee Goode Jersey . Derek Jeter just wanted to get out of the way. Jeter calmly eluded a fan that tried to meet him in the sixth inning of the New York Yankees 5-3 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night. Masahiro Tanaka pitched into the seventh and Yangervis Solarte hit a three-run homer for the Yankees, who have won three straight and four of six. It was New Yorks first game in Milwaukee since 2005, and it took a surprising turn when a guy jumped out of the left-field stands and walked briskly toward Jeter at shortstop in the sixth inning. Jeter didnt appear to notice the fan at first. Jeter, who plans to retire after this season, took a few steps away as several security guards rushed in to tackle the person. Jeter said the guy, who was wearing a Ryan Braun jersey and white bandana, didnt appear threatening. "His face was calm," Jeter said. "He was saying he wanted a hug. I was thinking I wasnt going to hug him. That was pretty much it. It happened pretty quick. I didnt even see him until he got past the third-base line." Jeter warned the guy he had made a big mistake. "I told him, Youre going to get in trouble," Jeter said. "Then he repeated that he wanted a hug. I said, Look out." Thats when several security guards flattened the guy and then hauled him away. "If you saw his face, he wasnt coming out there with anger," Jeter said. "So, no, I wasnt scared." But Yankees manager Joe Girardi was worried about Jeter. "I was like, Derek, move," Girardi said. "Derek just kind of stood there. Obviously, he didnt feel threatened. Its not what you want because you never know what people are up to. Its an unfortunate part of the game." Tanaka (5-0) allowed two runs and seven hits in his first interleague game. The Japanese right-hander struck out seven and walked one. Tanaka also struck out in each of his first three major league at-bats. Yovani Gallardo (2-2) matched Tanaka pitch for pitch until New York scored four times in the fourth on four hits, highlighted by Solartes second home run of the season. Carlos Beltran walked and Brian McCann singled before Solarte hit Gallardos first pitch, a cutter, over the right-field wall. "Thats whats frustrating about this game," Gallardo said. "You have to stay away from the big inning." Solarte leads the Yankees with 18 RBIs. He signed a minor league deal in January and then played his way onto the major league club with a strong spring training. "Hes obviously had a great first five or six weeks," Girardi said. "Hes played well and he deserves to be out there." The Yankees tacked on an insurance run in the eighth inning. Beltran hit a leadoff double against Brandon Kintzler, and Ichiro Suzuki then came in to run. Suzuki stole third and scored on Mark Teixeiras roller down the first-base line, making it 5-2. The Brewers got on the board in the sixth. Carlos Gomez and Scooter Gennett started the inning with consecutive doubles, and Jonathan Lucroy followed with an RBI single. Tanaka then got Aramis Ramirez to ground into a double play and struck out Mark Reynolds. Gallardo was impressed with Tanaka. "He kept the ball down in the zone and he was moving the ball around," Gallardo said. "He was pretty good at keeping our guys off balance." Adam Warren took over for Tanaka after he put runners on the corners in the seventh. Warren struck out pinch-hitter Lyle Overbay and Logan Schafer was cut down while trying to steal second. David Robertson allowed Reynolds sixth homer in the ninth, but struck out the side for his sixth save. Milwaukee has lost three straight and seven of nine since getting off to a hot start. The Brewers are playing without Ryan Braun, who has been sidelined by a right oblique strain. Eighteen ceremonial first pitches were tossed as the team and staff stretched from third base to first across the mound. Erik Swoope Jersey . "Ive got a lot of work to do on this team and the sooner that I can get back to my office and start that work, itll be better," he said straight-faced as the rest of the room erupted in laughter. Matthew Adams Jersey .cas NHL Play of the Year showdown continues today with a man whos spent most of his career on highlight reels and a goalie actually "reaching back" for a save. http://www.cheapcoltsjerseysonline.com/ .  City has reached new heights under manager Manuel Pellegrini as they transition from big spending/immediate impact to perennial contender.  Yaya Toures seeming discontent Tuesday may complicate that, as does the little issue of Financial Fair Play. NASHVILLE -- Geno Auriemma and UConn reached the top of womens college basketball in unprecedented fashion. After winning a record ninth national championship -- they stand alone. The Huskies reached the pinnacle in style, routing Notre Dame in the first NCAA basketball championship game featuring undefeated teams. Auriemma and his Huskies now have one more title than Pat Summitt and Tennessee for most all-time, and they did it in the Hall of Famers backyard. The Huskies had struggled recently against the Irish, but not Tuesday night, cruising to a 79-58 win. "It means weve done something no one else has ever done," Auriemma said. "Flattered and grateful and all the things that come with this kind of accomplishment. ... Im more proud of the legacy that exists and what Connecticut basketball is as opposed to the number of championships." Breanna Stewart, who was The Associated Press Player of the Year, scored 21 points to lead the Huskies (40-0) while Stefanie Dolson added 17 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. Auriemma took out his senior centre with a minute left and the game well in hand with the pair embracing in a long hug. "We beat a great, great team," Auriemma said. "Notre Dame is a great team. For them to have the season they had and lose their starting centre and to do what they did, I cant say enough about their players, coaching staff and it took everything we have. I knew if we played great wed have a chance to win." The victory also meant that UConn is now the centre of the college basketball world with both the mens and womens teams winning the championship in the same year again. The mens team beat Kentucky in the title game Monday night. This pair of victories came a decade after the Huskies became the only Division I school to accomplish the feat. "I couldnt be prouder of what the men did last night," Auriemma said. Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw congratulated the UConn coach when they shook hands after the game. "I said something like, I thought we were playing the Miami Heat for a while you guys are just that good. What a great season, you know things like that," McGraw said. "I thought ... LeBron was the only thing they were missing." While the names change at UConn, from Rebecca Lobo to Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore and now Stewart, Auriemma has been the constant, winning nine titles in only 20 seasons -- including the last two. Hes never lost in a national championship game. "Congratulations to the UConn Huskies for winning the 2014 NCAA National Chammpionship!," Summitt said in a statement emailed to The Associated Press. Marlon Mack Jersey. "My compliments also to coach Geno Auriemma for winning his ninth national title. He has accomplished this feat in record time." It was the fifth unbeaten season for Auriemma and UConn and the first time the Huskies went 40-0 -- matching Baylor as the only schools to accomplish that feat. The victory was also Connecticuts 46th straight dating back to last seasons NCAA tournament title run. Its the third longest streak in school history -- well short of the NCAA record 90 straight they won. The loss was Notre Dames third in the title game in the past four years. Kayla McBride finished off her stellar career with 21 points to lead the Irish, who were looking for their first championship since 2001. "Obviously we wanted to finish this season with a championship," said Irish freshman Taya Reimer, who replaced Achonwa in the starting lineup. "Right now, it is hard to think about. It hurts a lot." After proving to be no challenge for the Huskies during the first 15 years of the rivalry which began in 1995, Notre Dame had owned the series lately, winning seven of the previous nine meetings. UConn though has won the last two, eliminating Notre Dame in the Final Four last season before topping them in the championship game this year. The former Big East rivals played an entertaining first half in the highly anticipated matchup that womens basketball hoped could transcend the sport. The programs dont care for each other and the coaches added to the drama of the game with their verbal sparring on Monday. But it was Auriemma who got the last word again. Even with the loss, it was a record-setting season for the Irish. Notre Dame lost Skylar Diggins to graduation and changed conferences to the ACC. Neither mattered as they ran through their opponents, winning by an average of 25.6 points while taking both the conference regular season and tournament championships. The Irish lost senior Natalie Achonwa to a torn ACL in the regional final win over Baylor. Notre Dame wore warmup shirts with Achonwas nickname "Ace" below her No. 11. The team played inspired basketball in the Final Four win over Maryland where Notre Dame outrebounded the Terps by a record margin. The Irish couldnt muster a similar effort against UConn. The Huskies outrebounded the Irish 54-31 and held them to a season-low in points. "They got comfortable," McBride said. "They got into a rhythm, and it just went downhill from there." Ryne Stanek is set for a new role in the Tampa Bay rotation – sort of.
The reliever will likely now start two out of every five games in the Rays‘ ongoing bullpen-day experiment.
Wilson Ramos homered Marquis Haynes Color Rush Jersey , six Tampa Bay relievers combined for a five-hitter and the Rays beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 on Tuesday night.
With right-handers Chris Archer and Jake Faria on the disabled list, Tampa Bay is using relievers to start three times through the rotation.
Stanek opened the game, striking out three in two perfect innings, and was followed by Austin Pruitt (2 2/3 innings), Jonny Venters (one-third of an inning), Chaz Roe (1 1/3 innings), Jose Alvarado (1 2/3 innings) and Sergio Romo (one inning).
”We won, so it’s a pretty good day,” Stanek said. ”It’s like anything, the more you do something, the more comfortable you’re going to be. It’s definitely starting to become a little more normal. It’s not really coming like a surprise.”
It was Stanek’s fourth start.
”Stanek set the tone,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. ”The big story of the game was the bullpen http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com...nez-jersey , how they pieced it together.”
Pruitt (2-3) allowed four hits and a run but picked up the win. Romo allowed the other hit but locked down his second save.
”It’s always fun seeing guys come in behind you and get the job done,” Pruitt said.
Tampa Bay has won three of four following an eight-game skid.
Ramos put the Rays up 2-0 with his two-run drive off Jaime Garcia (2-5) in the third.
Garcia gave up four runs, four hits, four walks and struck out four in five-plus innings. The left-hander is 1-4 in seven road starts, allowing 28 earned runs over 31 1/3 innings.
”I competed and tried to make pitches,” Garcia said. ”There’s a couple of walks there that I’ve got to do a better there.”
Garcia departed after C.J Cron walked and went to third on Willy Adames‘ double to start the sixth. Pinch-hitter Joey Wendle and Mallex Smith both had run-scoring singles off Joe Biagini that made it 4-1.
Toronto had runners on second and third with no outs in the fifth but scored just once on Devon Travis‘ grounder off Pruitt.
”We had a chance to tie it, and then who knows?” Toronto manager John Gibbons said.
The Blue Jays have been held to one run or fewer 11 times.
TRAINER’S ROOM
Blue Jays: 3B Josh Donaldson (left calf tightness) remains day to day. … RHP Marcus Stroman (shoulder) will make a rehab start Wednesday night with Class A Dunedin.
Rays: CF Kevin Kiermaier (right thumb torn ligament) went 2 for 4 with a walk in his first minor league rehab game with Class A Charlotte and hopes to be back June 22. … OF Johnny Field (sore knee) was available off the bench.
HOUSE OF HORRORS
The Blue Jays have dropped the first two games in the three-game set and are 73-105 at Tropicana Field. It’s the most losses at any road ballpark since 1998, the Rays’ inaugural season. ”They’ve always held us in check down here,” Gibbons said. ”I don’t care what the roster is, I don’t care what team is here. It’s always kind of been that way.”
REACHING A DECADE
Romo reached 10 years of major league service time Monday and was given a postgame celebration by his teammates. ”A pretty awesome day,” Romo said.
UP NEXT
Tampa Bay RHP Wilmer Font (0-1) will start another bullpen game Wednesday against Blue Jays LHP J.A. Happ (8-3).

Brett Gardner is back in the New York Yankees’ lineup after missing five games because of soreness in his right knee.
The left fielder was the leadoff hitter for Friday night’s game at Tampa Bay.
”He’s been anxious to get back the last couple of days,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. ”Kind of our igniter http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com...ews-jersey , our heartbeat to a degree.”
The Yankees also got good news regarding right-hander Masahiro Tanaka, who went on the 10-day disabled list June 9 with a strain in both his right and left hamstrings.
Tanaka did long toss and threw at 60 feet on level ground Friday, and is set for his first bullpen session Sunday. If things go well, Tanaka would have another mound session Tuesday at the Yankees’ spring training complex in Tampa and take part in a simulated game later in the week.
”Another step along the way,” Boone said. ”He’s progressing well.”
Gardner entered Friday hitting .258 with five homers, 21 RBIs and 42 runs scored in 59 games.
Giancarlo Stanton started in right field with Aaron Judge as the designated hitter.
Jacoby Ellsbury, out all season with a number of injuries including an oblique strain and sore back, still has not resumed baseball activities. The Yankees haven’t completely ruled out Ellsbury playing this season but Boone had ”no clue” when the outfielder might be back.
”We’re trying to get him to the point to where he’s back doing his baseball activities,” Boone said. ”He still to clear some hurdles.”

ORLANDO, Fla. Bruce Hector Jersey . -- LeBron James warned the Orlando Magic to stop double-teaming him and ignoring James Jones. They didnt listen. Jones scored 14 of his 17 points to fuel a third quarter that turned a close game into a blowout, James led Miami with 21 points and the Heat rolled past the Magic 120-92 on Wednesday night for their fifth straight victory. Chris Bosh added 18 points for the Heat, who had all five starters sit out the fourth quarter for the second straight night. Dwyane Wade sat out his second straight full game to give his knees more rest. "My teammates rely on me," Jones said. "They know what Im capable of doing." So does Orlando. Jones -- who often isnt even in the Heat rotation -- started in Wades place and went 4 for 5 from beyond the arc in the third quarter alone, including back-to-back 3s that helped blow the game open. After connecting to make it 68-57, Jones took a pass from James, watched Orlando guard Jameer Nelson sail past after falling victim to a head fake, then coolly hit another 3 to extend Miamis lead to 14. "Thats what happens when you double," James shouted to any Magic player who might be listening. The Heat didnt lose control again. Michael Beasley scored 14 points and Chris Andersen added 10 for the Heat, who opened the game on a 16-0 run, lost the lead briefly in the second quarter, then outscored the Magic 66-43 after halftime. Arron Afflalo scored 20 of his 30 points in the first half for Orlando, and made 7 of 9 shots from 3-point range. Victor Oladipo scored 20 points, though had eight turnovers, giving him 17 in his past two games. The teams meet again Saturday in Miami. "Weve got to give them credit for hitting shots," Afflalo said. "At the end of the day, LeBron does command some attention at times. Maybe next game well have a little more individual pride just to see how well we can do defensively." Nelson scored 17 for the Magic. "LeBron came down and imposed his will on the game," Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said. The win improved Heat coach Erik Spoelstras career record to 269-137, inching him past the legendary Red Auerbach for fifth on the NBAs all-time winning percentage list for coaches. Spoelstras winning percentage is now .663; Auerbachs was .662. Only Phil Jackson, Billy Cunningham, Gregg Popovich and K.C. Jones have better percentages. "We have a lot of professionals in that locker room," Spoelstra said. "But JJ probably could write the textbook on professionalism, keeping yourself ready, embracing a role and playing that role arguably as well as anybody in this league." James reached double figures for the 507th straight game, one shy of matching Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the fifth-longest streak in NBA history. "Im gifted," James said, "and I dont take it for granted." The Heat, who struggled with starts of games at the beginning of the season, came out flying. Miami made its first seven shots, Orlando missed its first eight, and the end result was a 16-0 Heat lead a mere 4:02 after tipoff. It was the first time all season that the Heat opened with more than two unanswered points to begin a game. And within a few minutes, the margin was all gone. Afflalo got the Magic on the board with a pair of free throws, the first points in what became a 14-point outburst in a span of 6 1/2 minutes for Orlandos leading scorer. When Maurice Harkless hit a free throw with 7:55 left in the half, Orlando had its first lead at 32-31. It became Orlandos only lead, lasting all of 48 seconds. Miami rebuilt a 10-point edge twice over the remainder of the half, before taking a 54-49 lead into halftime. From there, it was all Miami. There was one 12-minute stretch where Orlando outscored Miami 32-15. Take that away, and the Heat outscored the Magic 105-60. Afterward, there was a surprise awaiting the Heat -- an early Thanksgiving dinner in the locker room, gumbo and fried chicken and a table filled with desserts, all cooked by Ray Allens mother. "Thats a good ball team and they were really good tonight," Vaughn said. "They got some off turnovers in transition, and then you get LeBron being effective in the post and having to react to him. Hes a willing and a really good passer and they have guys who can shoot the basketball. He found em and they made shots." NOTES: Heat F Rashard Lewis appeared in his 1,000th game, and James made his 5,000th free throw. ... Darrelle Revis of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- a Magic season-ticket-holder -- was courtside, along with former NBA star Grant Hill. ... Magic F Glen Davis, who has not played this season because of a broken foot, has resumed practicing but theres no timetable for a return to games. ... No Heat player logged 30 minutes. Matt Pryor Jersey . After making his All-Star debut in Fridays Rising Stars Challenge, the Raptors sophomore centre wont be sticking around for the duration of the weekends festivities, thinking about the big picture instead. Corey Clement Jersey . Seager had another triple, a home run and a double in a rare feat not seen in more than 40 years, leading Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners past the New York Yankees 10-2. "It was a weird play," Seager said of the triple in the fourth inning. http://www.cheapeaglesjerseysonline.com/ . And follow TSN.ca right through Deadline Day for all the updates. From Pierre LeBrun While Anaheim GM Bob Murray said earlier this season he was not going to trade Jonas Hiller despite the fact hes an unrestricted free agent on July 1, some sources have told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun that Murray might be willing to move another goalie.INDIANAPOLIS -- George Hill knew there was something different about the way he felt when he showed up to the arena Friday. He didnt know it was going to turn out to be a career night. "When I first walked in here today I was yelling at everybody, I dont know what it is, but I have a lot of energy," Hill said. "They said, Hopefully it carries to the court." It did in a big way. Hill had a career-high 37 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, leading the Indiana Pacers to a 118-113 overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Hill forced overtime with a 3-pointer to tie the game at 103 with 8 seconds left in regulation. Paul George, who finished with 17 points, missed a 3-pointer, Granger grabbed a rebound and found Hill for the tying basket. "Just trying to move to an open spot to get a shot up." Hill said. "I knew we needed a 3. The best way to do it is off an offensive rebound." David West scored a season-high 30 points and had 10 rebounds and Paul George added 17 points for the Pacers (39-10), who have won 5 of 6 games. Damian Lillard had 38 points and 11 assists and LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points for the Trail Blazers (35-15). George converted a steal into the go-ahead dunk with 3:48 left in overtime, putting the Pacers ahead 107-105. West dunked with 1:37 left to make it 111-107. West scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to keep Indiana in the game. He made a jumper to tie it at 91 with 3:54 left in regulation and later tied the game at 97. George made a 3 with 1:30 remaining to put the Pacers ahead 100-99, but then Wesley Matthews scored and Nicolas Batum made a pair of free throws to put the Trail Blazers ahead 103-100 before Hill tied the game. "I thought we played well against a championship-level team who found a way to get it done," Lillard said. "Thats what great teams do, find a way to get it done." Indianas 118 points was a season high, but its what was needed to beat the leagues best offensive team. More importantly, though, the Pacers just want to prove they can beat the leagues best teams. "Against the top teams, you have to get wins throughout the year," WWest said. Kamu Grugier-Hill Jersey. "This is a good win for us and we talk about finishing strong before the All-Star break. I thought we prepared well for this and came in and had a good game." Indianas newest addition was inactive. Andrew Bynum joined the team on Friday, a week after signing with the Pacers and over a month after being suspended indefinitely by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played in 24 games for the Cavaliers this season, but hasnt played a game since Dec. 26. Pacers coach Frank Vogel doesnt expect the 7-foot centre to play for several more weeks and said he wants to make sure Bynum is comfortable before throwing him into Indianas rotations. But the Pacers could have used his rebounding. By halftime, the Trail Blazers had a 25-15 edge and held Indiana to no offensive boards. The Pacers went on a 10-2 run in the second quarter. C.J. Watson made a free throw and Granger converted a 3-point play before Dorell Wright made two free throws, Watson made pair, Granger scored on a jumper and Rasual Butler hit a 3-pointer to make it 30-27 with 8:10 left in the first half. Lillard scored to give the Trail Blazers 44-35 lead with 3:29 left in the second quarter. Then the Pacers went on 8-2 run capped off with a shot by Hibbert to make it 46-43. Aldridge answered with a basket and West scored for Indiana before Lillard scored a wide-open layup with 2 seconds left to give the Trail Blazers a five point halftime lead. Pacers forward Lance Stephenson was out with a sore lower back. He was injured during a fall in Indianas 89-85 win over Atlanta on Tuesday. Vogel said Stephenson bounces back from injuries quickly and doesnt expect him to miss many games. NOTES: Stephenson has started every game hes played in this year and has missed just one game. Granger, who finished with seven points and six rebounds, started for Stephenson in that game in January and started Friday nights game, too. Its the only two starts for Granger in nearly two years. ... The Trail Blazers were without guard Mo Williams, who missed the game because of personal reasons. . A look at what’s happening around the majors Wednesday:
NATIONAL DECLINE
The Nationals could use a spark before the July 4 fireworks go off in D.C. Washington is at risk of falling below .500 for the first time since May 2 as it continues a series against Boston at 11 a.m. EDT. The Red Sox thumped the Nationals 11-4 on Tuesday Womens Tom Pyatt Jersey , giving Washington its fourth straight loss and 16th in 21 games to fall to 42-42. That slide has the preseason NL East favorites chasing the Braves and Phillies in the division. Erick Fedde (1-3, 6.00) tries to stop Washington’s skid against Boston left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (9-3, 4.11).
THE SHO GOES ON
Shohei Ohtani is back from the disabled list, albeit without full use of his electric right arm. The Japanese two-way sensation has been cleared to hit and was in the Angels’ lineup as a designated hitter Tuesday night, but he won’t be pitching anytime soon due to a Grade 2 sprain of his ulnar collateral ligament suffered more than three weeks ago. Ohtani has received stem cell therapy and a platelet-rich plasma injection on his right elbow, and it’s unclear if he’ll be able to return to the mound this year. For now, Los Angeles welcomes him as a hitter. He entered Tuesday batting .289 with a .907 OPS and six homers in 114 at-bats.
ROTATION RESET
Gerrit Cole (9-2) will pitch on regular rest for the Astros after a slight tweak to their rotation. Lance McCullers Jr. was initially scheduled to start at Texas, but Cole will pitch instead. Justin Verlander (9-4) will follow Thursday at home against the White Sox and McCullers goes Friday. Manager A.J. Hinch said the switch keeps Cole and Verlander pitching every fifth day, and provides extra rest for McCullers (9-3) and Charlie Morton (10-2). The reset rotation means likely All-Star selection Verlander is scheduled for the final game before the break. ”This is always going to be the priority Zack Smith Jersey ,” said Hinch, the All-Star manager who then won’t have Verlander available to pitch for the AL team on July 17 in Washington D.C.
BAUER POWER
Trevor Bauer tries to carry over an outstanding June when the Indians play at Kansas City. Bauer (7-6, 2.45) was 3-3 with a 2.18 ERA last month, striking out 62 batters in 41 1/3 innings. He gets probably his easiest test of the year against the Royals, who scored a major league-low 58 runs in June – the second-lowest output was Tampa Bay at 87.

After slugging their way to wins in the first five games against the Los Angels Angels, the Boston Red Sox needed some strong defense to complete the season sweep.
Jackie Bradley Jr. made a leaping catch at the wall in center to keep the Angels from scoring in the first inning and broke open the game with a two-run homer in the seventh as the Red Sox beat the Angels 4-2 on Thursday night.
”It feels good when you get the results,” Bradley said. ”Both were very pivotal for the game.”
Bradley’s shot to right was the 20th homer the Red Sox hit in six games against Los Angeles, sweeping the season series against the Angels for the first time since they joined the American League as an expansion club in 1961.
Boston outscored Los Angeles 49-12 while taking all six games, which according to the Red Sox is the first six-game season sweep in club history.
The Red Sox have won four straight and six of seven as they head to New York to open three-game series between the rivals on Friday night with first place in the AL East on the line.
Hector Velazquez (6-0) pitched two scoreless innings of relief Brandon Manning Jersey , allowing just one hit and striking out three. Craig Kimbrel earned his 24th save with a scoreless ninth inning.
With scheduled starter Steven Wright on the DL, the Red Sox had to shuffle their rotation. Manager Alex Cora said he was pleased to get four innings out of starter Brian Johnson and two more from Velazquez, setting up the bullpen to finish off the Angels.
”We got to where we wanted to get,” Cora said. ”B.J. (Johnson) was outstanding using his fastball, mixing up his breaking ball – very pleased with the way we got six innings out of those guys.”
The Angels have lost six straight, although they were in contention in the last two games at Fenway Park.
”There’s no doubt we hit the ball harder than looking at six hits,” manager Mike Scioscia said. ”We probably squared up five other balls that they made nice plays on. That’s the way it goes sometimes.”
Andrelton Simmons hit a solo homer and Albert Pujols had an RBI single for the Angels, who had a potential rally going in the eighth with runners on first and second with one out but were robbed of another hit when Andrew Benintendi made a leaping catch at the wall that rivaled what Bradley did in the first.
”That was amazing,” Bradley said. ”We were able to make some big plays for our pitchers and get the win.”
Los Angeles was up 1-0 until Devers led off the fifth with his 13th homer http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com...wry-jersey , to center off of Jaime Barria (5-4).
Barria was pulled after giving up a one-out walk to J.D. Martinez with one out in the sixth and the score still tied 1-1. Jose Alvarez gave up a double to Mitch Moreland, with Martinez moving to third. Xander Bogaerts was then walked intentionally to load the bases, and Brock Holt drew a walk to drive in Martinez for Boston’s first lead. Alvarez then got Devers to ground into a double play to end the inning.
Barria was charged with two runs on four hits and two walks, striking out two over 5 1/3 innings.
”Jaime was good. He had to work hard to get to that point of the game,” Scioscia said. ”There was one fastball he just left down the heart of the plate and it was down to Devers and he hit it out to center. But I thought he gave us a chance to win, there’s no doubt about that.”
Bradley’s homer, his sixth, in the seventh off of Noe Ramirez pushed Boston’s lead to 4-1.
BRONX BOUND
The Red Sox were busy packing their bags in the locker room after the game and were headed to New York, where the three-game series was scheduled to open Friday. The Red Sox (55-27) hold a slight lead on the Yankees (52-26) http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com...ice-jersey , who were off Thursday.
While the series is big, Bradley said the division title is not on the line – yet.
”I think if you win, that takes care of everything. You don’t have to think about anything else,” Bradley said. ”You get that done, I don’t think you’ve got to worry about any other teams.”
TRAINER’S ROOM
Angels: Placed rookie reliever Jake Jewell on the DL with a broken right leg that could cause him to miss the rest of the season. He’s scheduled to have surgery Friday. Jewell was carted off the field at Fenway Park on Wednesday night. … The Angels recalled RHP Eduardo Paredes from Triple-A Salt Lake and added RHP Taylor Cole to the major league roster.
UP NEXT
Angels: RHP Felix Pena (0-0, 5.40 ERA) gets his third start of the season and first on the road when the Angels open up a weekend series in Baltimore on Friday.
Red Sox: LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (9-2, 3.86) was on a six-start winning streak before taking the loss Saturday against Seattle. Rodriguez is scheduled to go up against Yankees LHP C.C. Sabathia (4-3, 3.18) in the series opener Friday night.

Former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit has been handed an indefinite medical suspension after tearing his MCL and partially tearing the meniscus in his right knee at UFC 171 on March 15, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) announced Tuesday. Cardinals Dakota Hudson Jersey . The governing body said Condit, who lost to Tyron Woodley via referee stoppage in the second round because of the injury, will require surgery and is sidelined until he is cleared by a doctor to resume contact. Preliminary card fighters Jimy Hettes and Robert Whiteford were also given indefinite suspensions due to injury. Newly crowned welterweight champion Johny Hendricks was handed a gentle 30-day break despite his five-round slugfest with Robbie Lawler in the main event. -- UFC 171s official medical suspension list: Carlos Condit - Suspended indefinitelyJimy Hettes - Suspended indefinitelyRobert Whiteford - Suspended indefinitelyDiego Sanchez - Suspended until April 30Johny Hendricks - Suspended until April 15Myles Jury - Suspended until April 15Jake Shields - Suspended until April 15Daniel Pineda - Suspended until April 15Robbie Lawler - Suspended until March 31Hector Lombard - Suspended until March 25Kelvin Gastelum - Suspended until March 25Rick Story - Suspended until March 25Jessica Andrade - Suspended until March 25Raquel Pennington - Suspended until March 25Dennis Bermudez - Suspended until March 25Alex Garcia - Suspended until March 25Sean Spencer - Suspended until March 25Francisco Trevino - Suspended until March 25Renee Forte - Suspended until March 25Justin Scoggins - Suspended until March 25Will Campuzano - Suspended until March 25Tyron Woodley - Suspended until March 23Ovince St-Preux - Suspended until March 23Nikita Krylov - Suspended until March 23Sean Strickland - Suspended until March 23Bubba McDaniel - Suspended until March 23 Authentic Cardinals Jerseys For Sale . MONTREAL -- Troy Smith is ready to hear Anthony Calvillos name mentioned every time he lines up at quarterback for the Montreal Alouettes. The Heisman Trophy-winning pivot, who joined the Alouettes midway through last season, will be the clubs first opening-game starter other than Calvillo in 15 years when Montreal plays its first game of the 2014 CFL regular season at Calgary on Saturday. They are massive shoes to fill, with Calvillo having retired in the off-season as the leagues all-time passing leader. "Ill never stop hearing those references," Smith said this week. "I think its great to be mentioned with a great name like that. "I havent done nearly the things he has, and just holding onto his coattails a bit has been fun so far. But as a man, I definitely want to make my own path. Thats why Im here." Smith takes over the key position on a team that was a powerhouse for most of Calvillos time behind centre, but which has been sliding in recent seasons. And even though they remain well-stocked with top talent at many positions, the Alouettes are perceived as a team in decline. Last season was a disaster, with the inexperienced Dan Hawkins fired as head coach only five games into the season, followed shortly by a season-ending, and career-ending, injury to Calvillo. They finished 8-10, tying their worst record since they returned to Montreal after a 10-year gap in 1996, and lost to Hamilton in the East Division semifinal. This season hasnt started well either, with team architect Jim Popps bid to keep the head coaching as well as general managing job turned down. Tom Higgins, who was out of coaching since 2007, was named the new head coach, but the offensive co-ordinator he hired, Rick Worman, was fired midway through training camp. Then the club lost both its pre-season games, including a 26-10 setback at home against expansion Ottawa in which they failed to score a touchdown with new OC Ryan Dinwiddie calling the plays. Smith was not sharp while playing just over half of that game, but neither were backups Tanner Marsh and Alex Brink. All three got starts last season, with Smith emerging as the most promising to take over the top job. Now he has to play well enough to keep it. "I dont look at it as a transition year," said Popp. "That was last year. "Theres going to be a transition, but we were faced with this starting in Game 6, and we played two thirds of the year without Anthony Calvillo, knowing he probably wasnt coming back. "We had four different quarterbacks that won games and the team realized they could win without Anthony. That was a big hurdle. Its a little nerve-wracking, but like with all great players you lose, you just have to march on. Its not so much to replace that guy, but to find someone you can win with. How great theyll be, well find out." There were two main positives to come out of the off-season. One was the return of Larry Taylor, who gives them a kick return threat they havent had in recent seaasons. Cardinals Chasen Shreve Jersey. Another was the signing of former NFL star receiver Chad (Ochocinco) Johnson, who so far looks to have a positive influence on and off the field. The 36-year-old Johnson has been out of football for two years, but Popp said he showed up in shape and has been a "great fit." "I think he can do great things for us," Popp said. "Every time we play somebody, their attention is on him, and not on S.J. Green and Duran Carter. So if hes an attention grabber and everyones talking about him, great. Chads used to that. And Chad, with each game and experience he has in this league, is only going to get better as the season goes along." Smith will have an impressive set of receivers with Green, Carter, Johnson, Taylor, Brandon London, Eric Deslauriers and the repatriated Dave Stala. Gone are Jamel Richardson, who had a knee injury and was cut, and veteran Arland Bruce. "Weve got the best receiving corps in the league," said Popp, who is particularly high on Carter, the son of former NFL great Cris Carter, who gained 909 yards in only 12 games after making his CFL debut in August. "All I say is CFL, enjoy what youre watching because youll be watching him in the NFL next season, Hell have the majority of NFL teams after him, and were not talking about as a third or fourth receiver. He can go in and have an impact like Cam Wake. Hes at that level." There is a first-rate running back in Brandon Whitaker and a solid offensive line anchored by left tackle Josh Bourke, despite the retirements of Scott Flory and Andrew Woodruff and the departure of Michael Ola to the NFL. The defence lost starting middle linebacker Shea Emry to Toronto, but should remain among the leagues best under defensive co-ordinator Noel Thorpe with veterans like rush end John Bowman and linebacker Chip Cox leading the unit. The Alouettes kick teams have been weak for the last three seasons, including when Marc Trestman was head coach and didnt name a full-time special teams co-ordinator. But they looked good both on returns and kick coverage in the pre-season and they may be a key area of improvement. Taylors ability to avoid the first wave to pick up extra yardage should be a bonus. It will likely take some time for the offence to jell. And if it turns out that Smith doesnt have what it takes to be a regular CFL starter, it could be a long season indeed. Starting the campaign against Calgary, followed by a home game against B.C., should give Higgins and idea of what it will take to re-establish Montreals reputation as a Grey Cup contender. "Every indication is that Troy Smiths going to be our guy, but sometimes there are growing pains," said Higgins. "If you look at Anthonys career, at the start it wasnt as stellar as it was at the end. "All that being said, (Smith) comes with good intangibles. Hes from a good program. Hes got the system down. Practices are going good. So lets see him get measured up against the best." The stage was set for another dramatic Super Bowl comeback for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
That’s when Brandon Graham delivered one of the few defensive highlights in the most prolific offensive game in NFL history Phillip Gaines Color Rush Jersey , ripping the ball out of Brady’s hands for a fumble that gave the Philadelphia Eagles their first Super Bowl title in franchise history with a 41-33 victory on Sunday night.
”When the fourth quarter came we had to go out there and make a stop,” Graham said. ”As a defense we hadn’t been doing it all game. The offense carried us all the way through. At the end of the day we kept coming.”
Rookie Derek Barnett recovered the loose ball and Eagles fans began celebrating their first title since winning the 1960 NFL championship in what proved to be a surprise ending.
Brady had made the late-game comeback a specialty in winning a record five Super Bowl titles, including last year’s rally from 28-3 down to beat Atlanta in overtime. He also led late game-winning scoring drives to beat the Rams, Carolina and Seattle.
The Eagles showed no sign of slowing Brady down on Sunday as he threw for a playoff-record 505 yards and three touchdowns, carving up the defense at will on a night when the Patriots did not punt once or turn it over until Brady’s late fumble with New England on its 33 with just more than two minutes remaining and poised for a comeback.
That’s when Graham beat Shaq Mason off the line and reached his left hand out for Brady just before he was set to throw. Graham knocked the ball loose.
”I knew I had a one-on-one with the guard,” Graham said. ”I knew he likes to be aggressive so I tried to act like I was pulling. I snatched it right off and Tom Brady’s arm was right there and I went for the ball.”
Barnett landed on it in what will go down as one of the most memorable plays in Philadelphia history.
”BG made the play to win it,” Barnett said. ”It was a good bounce. Right into my hands.”
The fumble set up a field goal that gave the Eagles an eight-point lead and then the game ended when Brady’s desperation heave for Gronkowski in the end zone fell to the turf, sending green and white confetti to the field, emotional Eagles pouring out on the field and Brady on the ground in frustration.
The Eagles defense had offered little resistance for the first 57 minutes as the Patriots moved the ball on every drive, getting stopped only on a missed field goal by Stephen Gostkowski and a failed fourth-down attempt one play after Brady dropped a pass from Danny Amendola on a trick play.
But the Patriots had scored three straight touchdowns to open the second half to take their first lead of the game at 33-32 and still were in position to win after Nick Foles gave the Eagles a 38-33 lead on a TD pass to Zach Ertz.
”We stuck together,” defensive lineman Fletcher Cox said. ”Nobody panicked. We knew what we had to do to stop him. We knew it would come down to a couple of plays. We’ve been through the situation before. Guys just stepped up and make plays.”
Graham was the one who delivered, providing a defensive exclamation point in a game that featured a record 1,151 yards of offense by both teams, including 613 for the Patriots.
”They made one good play at the right time,” Brady said.

Jose Altuve was more than due when he came to bat in the 10th inning Marshall Newhouse Color Rush Jersey , and got a winning rally started for the Houston Astros.
”He hadn’t gotten a hit in four at-bats,” manager A.J. Hinch said of the second basemen who led the American League in hits each of the past four seasons and is the MLB leader so far this year.
Altuve was actually in an 0-for-13 slide before his fifth at-bat Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers. His 115th hit of the season was a one-out single off Chris Martin, who then hit Yuli Gurriel with a pitch before an errant pickoff throw allowed both runners to move up. That set up Evan Gattis‘ tiebreaking sacrifice fly in a 5-4 victory.
Gurriel homered, doubled and scored twice as the Astros overcame an early four-run deficit. His fifth homer, leading off the fifth against starter Mike Minor, tied the game at 4.
Josh Reddick also went deep for the Astros, who their eighth consecutive road game against Texas and are a majors-best 32-14 on the road this season. The Astros have a 12-4 advantage in the season series between the instate division rivals that has only a three-game set remaining in Houston later this month.
Shin-Soo Choo homered and had a single to extend his on-base streak to 44 games, the longest in his career and in the majors this season. That matches Otis Nixon’s streak in 1995 for the Rangers, and trails only Julio Franco’s 46-gamer in 1993 for the team record.
Texas led 4-0 after Choo’s one-out solo homer started a three-run outburst in the third off starter Gerrit Cole.
Collin McHugh (4-0), who won 48 games as a starter for the Astros the past four seasons, allowed only one hit over three scoreless innings. Ken Giles worked the 10th for his 12th save in 12 chances.
”You’re talking about a 19-game winner in the big leagues. Those don’t grow on trees,” said Astros reliever Will Harris, who worked out of a jam in the sixth before McHugh took over. ”He goes out there and he knows who he is. He mixes it up, he’s a strike thrower and he’s a fearless guy out there.”
MESSY MOUND
The start of the game was delayed for a few minutes after Minor had issues with the mound during warmups. The ground crew came out to work on the slippery dirt. Cole also was unhappy with the mound. Martin (1-2) slipped and fell down when throwing the pitch that hit Gurriel. The Rangers said afterward that Martin was being evaluated for a left groin issue.
”The mound early seemed to be slick,” Rangers manager Jeff Banister said.
DEEP ON THE ROAD
The Astros have homered in 24 consecutive road games http://www.officialsenators.com/authenti...man-jersey , three short of the MLB record set by the Oakland Athletics earlier this season. Baltimore also went deep in 24 consecutive road games in 1996.
RACKING UP K’s
Cole, who threw 108 pitches to get through five innings, struck out seven to increase his season total to 158. The only Astros pitcher with more strikeouts before the All-Star break is Mike Scott, with 167 in 22 starts in 1986. Cole has made 18 starts, with two more scheduled before the break. … In four starts against Texas this season, Cole has 40 strikeouts in 25 innings.
FAR FROM PERFECT
Minor retired the first 19 San Diego batters he faced in his previous start a week earlier. The lefty allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits over six innings against Houston with four strikeouts and three walks.
”Probably not as sharp as he’s been,” Banister said. ”Looked like they were sitting on slider.”
TRAINER’S ROOM
Astros: Hinch said C Max Stassi was feeling better than expected after getting hit by a pitch on his right (throwing) wrist in the first inning Tuesday, on the same day starting catcher Brian McCann had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
Rangers: 3B Adrian Beltre, baseball’s active career hits leader (3,108), was scratched from the lineup about an hour before the game because of an infected tooth. He had a root canal and then traveled with the team to Detroit. … RHP Tony Barnette went on the 10-day disabled list. An MRI revealed a strained lat that will keep him from throwing for at least four weeks. He left Tuesday night’s game in the middle of a batter.
UP NEXT
Astros: Justin Verlander (9-4), who has lost his last two starts, is on the mound when the Astros return home for the opener Thursday night of a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox.
Rangers: The Rangers open a 10-game, 11-day trip that will take them to the All-Star break when they play Thursday night at Detroit. Texas also plays at Boston and Baltimore before their next home game July 20.
